Mouth ulcers are painful sores that occur on the inner sides of the cheeks, tongue, gums and even the inside of the lower lip. 1. Coconut

Coconut milk is one of the best treatments for mouth ulcers. Gargle with fresh coconut milk 3-4 times every day till the ulcers reduce . You can also drink coconut water to cool your body. Coconut is the best remedy to treat mouth ulcers . Applying coconut oil on mouth ulcer can also provide relief.

2. Hot & Chilled Water

Gargle with a glass of chilled water and a glass of hot water alternately. It will give you relief from the mouth ulcers. You can also use salt water or cool water individually for gargles.

3. Tomato

Researches have proved that taking lycopene provides relief from mouth ulceration . Tomatoes contain considerable amount of lycopene . Either drink tomato juice or apply it on the affected area 3-4 times every day to get rid of mouth ulcers at home. You can also eat raw tomatoes .

4. Turmeric

Mix a pinch of turmeric powder in a teaspoon of glycerine, and apply this mixture on the ulcers. It really works wonders.

7. Honey

Honey is anti bacterial in nature therefore it is used to cure ulcers . Mix ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder in a teaspoon of honey to form a paste. Now, apply it over the blisters. You can also apply a mixture of honey and coconut oil on the ulcers to get rid of them fast.

Alternatively, only honey can also be directly applied to the ulcers .

8. Yogurt

Apply plain yogurt on the blisters to get quick relief . Alternatively, you can also consume yogurt daily for treating mouth ulcers. Yogurt contains a bacteria called Lactobacillus which prevents bacterial infections.

You can also drink buttermilk. It is a good cure for mouth ulcers.

9. Hydrogen Peroxide

Make a mixture of 3% hydrogen peroxide with equal quantities of water. Soak a cotton ball in this solution and apply it on the ulcer. Just dab the solution on the sore and don’t swallow it. Follow by dabbing few drops of Milk of Magnesia on the ulcer. Repeat this process once or twice a day for better results.

10. Baking Soda

Mix baking soda with water to make a thin paste and apply it on the affected area to get rid of the painful mouth ulcers.
